AMCAS Training is pleased to be able to offer food safety courses for individuals and businesses in the food catering and manufacturing trade. We deliver food safety courses and training at any venue in the UK, although we mainly provide food safety training in the Bath area, as well as in and around the Wiltshire towns of Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge and Melksham.
We offer our own certificated training courses and are also accredited to deliver Highfield award courses. Highfield is the leading UK supplier of compliance training with their qualifications being globally recognised.
Our food catering and manufacturing courses are aimed at those preparing to enter the industry, as well as those already working in food handling situations. Our professional, experienced instructors are dedicated to spreading awareness of the fact that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking, service and handling of food.

The Level 1 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing is a qualification intended for learners working in a manufacturing environment and those who are preparing to work in the industry.
Subjects
This qualification covers:
- The importance of food safety
- An awareness of food safety hazards and how they can be prevented
- The importance of personal hygiene
- The importance of cleaning and disinfection
The subjects covered are regarded by the Food Standards Agency as being important to ensure good practice and the production of safe food.
How long will it take to achieve this qualification?
This qualification is usually achieved by taking a half day classroom-based course.
How is the qualification assessed?
This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice question examination.
The duration of the examination is 30 minutes.
Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15.
What next?
Learners successfully achieving this qualification may wish to progress to the AMCAS Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing.
